Resource: biography, picture book
Time: 1930s - 1968
Place: America

Main Character: Martin Luther King Jr.
Age: from boy to adult

Summary:
This story is told with such simple, straightforward sentences.  Even a small child would understand the story of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and mission.  Nearly every page has a few sentences then a quote to  propel the story onward. It includes Dr. King's boyhood in the South, his life as a minister, the Montgomery bus boycott, civil rights protests and marches, retaliation that he faced, the "I Have a Dream" speech, Nobel Peace Prize, and his death. Included at the end of the book are important dates in Dr. King's life and additional books and websites. This is one of the most powerful books I have ever read.
