The Cyrus cylinder is the decree of Cyrus that allows the Jews to return home after the fall of Babylon in 973 BC.  The in this talk Neil McGregor details the political scene of the time and the echos of it later, at the time 1880s when it was rediscovered, it's impact in the founders of America, it's impact on the founding of the modern state of Israel even to its meaning in the Middle Eastern talks of today.
