Resource: chapter book, non-fiction
Time: 1600 BC - AD 393
Place: Greece

Summary:
This is a groovy history told with easy, hip words geared to young readers, cartoons, black and white illustrations, diary entries, quotes from historical figures (like Socrates), fun quizzes, and newspaper articles. It spans the whole of ancient Greek history, with additional stories about the Greek gods.  It is written for the student, in language they can relate, there is a lot of slang. This book was written by Englishman, you can tell because he uses English (from England) slang, i.e. maths instead of math.  This is part of the Horrible Histories series.

Potentially Objectionable Content:
Nudity: There is some naked backsides in the Greek games.
Violence: It is called horrible histories for a reason. There is definitely violence described in the text and also some cartoon violence.

Reading Level: grade 3-5
Lexile Measure: 780L
