Summary:
This biography of Joan of Arc is told in a very straightforward way with full color illustrations. The places and dress of the people are historically correct for the period. The explanation of the Hundred Year War at the beginning of the book is especially well written for children to understand.   There is also a picture of Joan using a distaff and spindle before she was called to fight with the French army. There is a bibliography and a list of books recommended for younger readers at the end of the book.
