Resource: podcast
Running Time: 46 minutes

Time: 1508 - 1458 BC
Place: Egypt

Summary:
The History Chicks do a great job describing the extraordinary rule of Hatsheput, Pharaoh of ancient Egypt.  Starting with her birth through her tomboy childhood to her co-rulership with her father, her own reign then co-rulership with her son to her death.  Hatsheput lived a long time ago, no I mean a really, really long time ago. The best part of this particular podcast is how well the ladies lay out for us the breadth of time that the Egyptian empire encompassed.  Hatshepsut missed the mammoths by only a few hundred years.  The  blog post with the show notes has some great pictures too.  I would recommend checking it out, just for the picture of the pyramids through the window of a Pizza Hut.  I kid you not, check it out.
