Addy's Cook Book

Summary:
A lovely cookbook with some interesting history.  There is a page about cooking in the Civil War with a general overview of the history surrounding the Addy books, talking about enslaved and free people. There is a page discussing kitchens in the 1860s and a page describing the table service. The bulk of the book is divided into sections on breakfast, dinner and favorite foods. At the beginning of each section there is discussion on how each fit into life in the 1860s.  Recipes are clear and easy to follow with a history fact on most pages tying into the recipe. At the end of the book there is a plan for an emaciation and a Juneteeth party.
