The Normans were descended from a Viking warrior named Rollo, but before his particular story was laid out, Lars Brownworth the narrator of this exceptional podcast paints the picture of the Viking age as Europe enters into the Dark Ages.  Rollo, a roving Viking warrior, through guile and strategy gains the lands around the city of Rouen in the north of France in what will become Normandy.  Well written and delivered this podcast is informative and interesting.
