Summary:

This is a story based on scrolls found from the Greco Roman period but tell of an earlier time. The story is illustrated in the two dimensional, Egyptian style.  Prince Pedikhons tries to invade the home of Queen Serpot of the Amazons.  She is his equal, they fall in love and go off to conquer India together.  There are drawings of hieroglyphs with translation on each page in addition to the story in English.  The end of the book contains several pages about the history of the story and the time period it represents.  There is also a section discussing hieroglyphs, a page by page explanation of symbols and further reading suggestions.
