Summary:
Tad Lincoln was a precocious little boy.  He befriended Jack, the turkey brought to the White House for the Thanksgiving feast.  Tad implored his father, the president, Abraham Lincoln to pardon the poor bird even as he pardoned soldiers.  They had ham and chicken for that Thanksgiving.  There are several pages at the end of story about the history of the story.  There is a page about the Proclamation of Thanksgiving and this historicity of the story.  There is a short page on the Civil War.  There is also a short biography of the Lincoln and his family. This book is illustrated in full color by Alexandra Wallner.
