Summary:
Branch Rickey was a player, coach, manager and owner in major league baseball.  As a player, notably, he refused to play on Sundays.  He is known best as the man who brought Jackie Robinson into major league baseball, breaking the color line.  In this short video produced by the Library of Congress and the History Channel two primary documents are explored, a scouting report submitted by Branch Rickey and a letter to Branch from Jackie Robinson on the occasion of Branch's leaving the Dodgers.  There are also a number of period photos of Branch Rickey in the various rolls that he played.
