Lego Challenge 3 - Old Testament



This next challenge is a scene from the Old Testament.  There are so many stories to choose from.  The rules are simple, make a scene out of Legos.

Summary:
This book is a fun ride through Iron Age Canaan, that land bridge between the sea and mountains that joins Europe, Asia and Africa.  The book is divided into categories such as Farm Jobs, Craft Jobs, or At-Sea Jobs. Each job is described in 2 to 4 paragraphs, bite sized reading.  It is written in the second person and interspersed with archaeological tidbits and quotes from the Bible.  The book begins with an introduction which includes information of the region, how writing began, archaeology in Israel and a timeline of the dates between 1200 and 586 BC.  The book ends with an author's note reflecting on the recent history of the Holy Lands, recommended further reading and index.  Illustrated by Martha Newbigging.

Summary:
Daniel bar Jamin is full of rage and retribution.  He has been dealt many hard blows, from the death of his parents to the abuse of his master that caused him to run away to the mountains to live with a band of Zealots outside his village a short distance from Capernaum.  The story begins when he meets an old schoolmate, Joel on the mountain one day.  Daniel has many adventures on the mountain, then is called back to the village to care for his fearful, traumatized sister.  He meets Jesus.  He realizes that violence may not be the only way.

Violence: there is some description of ambushes and beatings, though not explicit.
