Resource: graphic novel
Time: 1931 - 1939
Place: America
Summary:
Men tried to make farm land out of land that should not have been farmed. Then came a long drought. The scarred soil whipped up into winds formed horrible dust storms. It was an ecological disaster of biblical proportions. Don Brown does an excellent job of succinctly describing the causes and the consequences of the Dust Bowl. He uses the comic form well, combining drawings and words to paint the big picture.
