Summary:
With panoramic vistas thus documentary is as much about the varied and awesome geography of the west as about the brave men and woman who made the 8000 mile journey. Narrated by Jeff Bridges with many quotes from the journals of Merriweather Lewis and William Clark, this documentary tells the tale of the journey to the Pacific Ocean.  Emphasis is placed on the help of the Native American tribes whose lands they crossed through, without which the journey could not have been accomplished.
