Resource: picture book, biography
Time: 1743 -1826
Place: America

Summary:
Thomas Jefferson was a complex man who, even from a young age, loved to learn about everything.  This wonderfully whimsically written and illustrated book touches on every aspect of this man's life.  It talks about everything from his friendship with patriots to his vegetable garden to his presidency, even his relationship to his slaves.

Potentially Objectionable Content:
The topic of his slaves is handled very circumspectly, but it is mentioned that he had children with a woman who was not his wife.
